Newly renovated villa with amazing views, 5 minutes from Cruz bay!
Oceanport had minimum storm damage. All repairs and renovations are now complete featuring a brand new kitchen, tile flooring throughout the main house, remodeled queen bathroom. Already completed remodeled master bath as well as bedroom & bathroom flooring. Upgrades also include split a/c units in all four bedrooms a pool and spa. Wifi and cable and land lines have been restored. We welcome our return guests and first time visitors!!
Oceanport is a newly remodeled villa with stunning 270º ocean views. Wraparound decks offer expansive views of sea life, surfers, and nighttime stars. Descend private stone steps to the beach below or lounge in the new pool and spa surrounded by native plantings.
The Great Room opens into a new mahogany kitchen and dining room on one side and a queen bedroom and bath on the other. Mahogany stairs ascend to two upper level bedroom suites (one with king, & one with two twins or a king). A 40´ deck off the Great Room overlooks Hart Bay. Stairs from this deck descent to a guest apartment with queen bedroom, bath, and open living and dining areas with a kitchenette. All bedrooms have AC and open onto private decks with sweeping ocean views.
Outside: A coral stone patio hosts a heated pool with built-in-spa, spacious lounging, patio bar and 8–person dining table and gas grill. The large pool (3´shallow end, 6′ deep end) has daylong sunshine and unobstructed ocean views from Hart Bay to Ditleff Point and beyond. All this is nestled in a sea of environmentally sustainable native plantings.
Moving down to the water’s edge, guests will find 199 stone steps to the Hart Bay beach. Half way down the path you will find a stone bench where you can sit to rest or enjoy another spectacular vista. This quite coral sand beach invites guest to beach comb, collecting gifts from the sea.
For the cook: You can’t help but enjoy this villa’s brand new kitchen with its expansive views of the ocean, separate bar/prep area and everything a gourmet chef could want! This kitchen is fully-equipped with stainless steel appliances, refrigerator with water and ice dispensers, a 5 burner gas range, dishwasher, wine refrigerator, coffee maker and grinder, blender and toaster.
Technology: WIFI throughout the villa and a high-quality Bluetooth stereo on the main level. All TVs have extended digital cable. Villa also has a landline telephone.
Eco-friendly: Oceanport operates on solar energy and runs on rain water captured by cisterns. Water is filtered through a triple UV water filtration system. Beautiful gardens capitalize on native plants irrigated by rain water captured by passive irrigation.
The upper level newly remodeled Oceanview Master Suite has a king size bed and mahogany furnishings. Double closets house all of your Caribbean attire. This suite has a 19″ flat screen TV with expanded digital cable and DVD player. The large master bath features double sinks, a large vanity and a full size shower with a large window to enjoy views to the sea. A wrap around private balcony with expansive views from Reef Bay, Ditliff Point, Rendezvous Bay and around to the west for a glimpse of St. Thomas.
The upper level Sand Dollar Suite is decorated in a cottage style. The two twin beds are great for singles or can be converted into a king for a couple. A large closet with hamper takes care of all your island attire. The bath, with turquoise tile and window open to the tropical breezes, relaxes you upon entry. The large picture window and small balcony are perfect for enjoying the sounds of the surf and views of the sparkling blue bay below.
On the main level, the soothing, sun-drenched walls of the newly remodeled Starfish Bedroom and Bath give you a warm feeling upon entry. A queen bed with mahogany furnishings and double closet with hamper. The private wrap around balcony has expansive ocean views of the beach below. Just around the corner, guests find the full bath which offers easy access from the great room. A large travertine-tile shower and window overlooks the gentle waves below.
The Guest Retreat is a private apartment accessed by a spiral staircase from the main deck. This apartment has a bedroom with a queen sized bed and full bath with shower. A large living room offers comfortable seating, and 22” TV, expanded digital cable and DVD player. The kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, blender and toaster. This is a perfect space for those who want to relax and get away from it all. This retreat also includes its own private balcony where you can relax while gazing out to the spectacular ocean views below.
We so enjoyed returning to the beautiful Oceanport villa. Stunning views, southerly breezes and the sound of the ocean surf combine to make this the most desirable location on St. John. Added to that, the owners have totally redone the property with a gorgeous new pool and spa – we found it hard to drag ourselves away to head for the North shore beaches! Cooking was a pleasure in the remodeled kitchen – every detail seemed to have been considered. Snorkeling in Hart Bay is some of the best on the island. We love the island of St. John and our thoughts and prayers were with her in the last year as she worked to recover from the devastation of the 2017 hurricanes. It was truly a pleasure to be here once again and we look forward to many more visits.
Our 3rd stay at Oceanport over the past 5 years was better than ever. The new pool and spa were a huge hit for our kids. The new and expanded kitchen made for a fantastic work space. Especially when you have 6 people bouncing around the kitchen prepping to head to the beach. Plus with the new kitchen we are seriously considering hiring a cook the next rip down to prepare some of our dinners (Although we really love heading to Cruz Bay to eat and then hang out). Our trip was in mid March 2018 and great progress had been made around the island at getting things back to normal. There was a little less tree cover at some of the beaches, but as frequent travelers to the island we always pack two wind resistant umbrellas in a golf bag carry case for beaching. We love the sun, but like alcohol, you can have too much of a great thing. Although we only hiked rams Head on this trip, we are looking forward to the Reef Bay Trail on our next trip. Overall a fun trip with great hosts, food, sun, snorkeling, beaching and beverages. The Jackson Family

Deposit Information: A deposit of 50% of the total rent is required to confirm your reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. The deposit is refunded if re-rented, less 20% administrative costs. Not included in the rental rates is a Virgin Islands Hotel Tax of 12.5% and a $750 refundable security deposit.
